Emotional battles like depression, PTSD and other traumas are real. God wants us to be at total peace as we live out our lives. Mediating on His word leads us to a state of peacefulness. Spend time mediating on these scriptures and read then with the expectation that God will lead you into His peace.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. John 14:27
He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds. Psalm 147:2
Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble; He saved them out of their distresses. He sent His word and healed them. Psalm 107:19-20
Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Matthew 11:28-29
O Lord, if you heal me, I will be truly healed; if you save me, I will be truly saved. Jeremiah 17:14
Agree with God, and be at peace; thereby good will come to you. Receive instruction from his mouth, and lay up his words in your heart. Job 22: 21-22
But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. Isaiah 53:5
Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil. Then you will have healing for your body and strength for your bones. Proverbs 3:5-8
In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety. Psalm 4:8
Because of the tender mercy of our God, whereby the sunrise shall visit us from on high, to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace. Luke 1:78-79
Finally, brothers, rejoice. Aim for restoration, comfort one another, agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you. Corinthians 13:11
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
